Gimlet is the resulting cocktail of curing scurvy of Sailor invented by British Navy, original Gimlet recipe was Navy strength gin (strong Gin 57.5% A.B.V. ) & Rose's lime juice. Believed that in 1953, British Navy mixed  preserved lime juice to gin and given to his sailor to prevent from Scurvy disease. In Fact the cocktail was very tasty and accessible to everyone and sailors liked it. Then later on about 20th Gimlet recipe become very popular with Navy Officers and British Society Because of its unique combination of Gin and Rose's lime cordial.

But now a days Modern gimlet has been improved. There are countless Brand of Gin with different Alcohol volume, with various types of Botanical and style of gin. I also tried Japanese gin for my Gimlet replacing with Japanese Gin and Yuzu Juice instead of lime juice. it's incredible. you got to try once. it's very rich sharpness, tart and fragrant of Yuzu ( Japanse Citrus Fruit) goes very well with Japanese Gin. You can just Combine together with Gin, yuzu juice and simple syrup after that shake it very well then enjoy on the rocks. 

Here's How I Make Gimlet Cocktail:

60 ml Gin (Any of your favorite Gin )

15 ml Fresh Lime Juice ( freshly squeeze lime juice is recommended )

15 ml Simple syrup ( Rich simple syrup, 1 part Water 2 part Sugar)

Place your mixing Glass with Ice cubes, start pouring Non- alcohol ingredients, then add Gin.
After that shake it very well to make sure all ingredients mixed well.
Double strain into Chilled Coupe glass.
Lastly Garnish with fresh Lime slice.
